There are smart, simple and fun ways to keep cool, keep refreshed, and keep energy levels on the right side of summer. From hydration hacks and smart snacking, to cooling routines and lifestyle shifts that make a real difference. Here are five ways you can cool off and beat the heat this summer.
Stay hydrated
Water is the first and most important hack. Keep a bottle at your desk, in your car and in your bag and sip consistently. You can give your water some flavour hits with lemon, mint or fresh fruit infusions to turn hydration into a vibe if you prefer.

2
Eat high-water content foods
Go big on juicy fruits and vegetables – think watermelon, cucumber, berries, oranges, tomatoes. These are high-water-content foods that naturally cool your body and keep you energised without the heavy, sluggish feeling.

3
Freeze your snacks
You can snack on frozen grapes, frozen fruit cubes or frozen yoghurt bites. This is another way to enjoy your snacks this summer. They’re refreshing and will help keep you cool when the heat is peaking.

4
Dress for airflow
Wearing clothes that are made of light, breathable fabrics makes a huge difference. Choose fabrics like linen and cotton. Soft neutrals and lighter colours reflect heat better than darker tones.

5
Lower the temperature of your space
Keep the room cool, you can do this even if you don’t have expensive air-conditioners. You can open the windows to allow the air to circulate – small changes make a big difference.
Finally, remember to apply sunscreen and lotion with a high-level of protection against harmful ultra-violet rays. You should also wear a hat that can protect both your face and neck, even when you’re in the shade.
