We cannot believe this is the last Buzz edition of the year. Where has the year gone? Just the other day, we were stressing to remember to change the date to 2025 and now we are heading for 2026! Is time going quicker these days? It sure feels that way here.
We've had a busy year in the Windy City, and every month was different, that’s the great thing about working here and working with our clients. No two days are ever the same.
A top-charting year worth celebrating
The Policy Finance, and Commission, Contracting and Distribution teams have had a chart-topping year, packed with process improvements, major milestones, and some well-deserved celebrations.
One of our biggest hits was updating the FSP contract to align with the latest Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and beneficial ownership legislation – and beginning the important process of conducting due diligence checks. We also fine-tuned the medical payments process from start to finish, introducing updated guidelines, templates, SLA tracking, query support improvements, and bank statement reconciliations to keep everything in harmony.
The Data Capture team implemented new processes to be compliant with the beneficial ownership requirements while we saw some changes to out extra cover buy-up process for the Data Capture and Tele-underwriting teams this year. All our teams rolled out BrightPatterns, and our client scores hit an all time high this year.
The team kept the rhythm going by updating twelve key guidelines across both Policy Finance, and Commission, Contracting and Distribution.
2025 also brought some well-earned applause. We celebrated our Endeavour Award winners, Andrea Roberts, Lauren Roderick, John Haggard, Gafsa Bruce and Annestacia Tiervlei, and long service milestones for Danielle Wessels, Zintle Ngoxoza, Daniel Jantjies, Julie Oelofse, Navedine MacDonald, and Patricia Weir. Congratulations once again to our Bright Sparks!
Looking to drop more hits in the next year
Looking ahead to 2026, our next big tracks include:
Streamlining the onboarding process for new intermediaries thus enhancing efficiency and turnaround times;
Focusing on team growth, and cross-skilling by helping consultants learn each other’s roles to better understand how their work connects; and
Streamlining mailbox management across both teams for smoother communication and faster responses.
There’s also lots to look forward to in the Tele-underwriting team, from rolling out WhatsApp for business to introducing new tech for our questionnaire.
Bonus tracks that keep us jamming
And of course, no “summer hits” list would be complete without a few bonus tracks! Andrea Roberts celebrated becoming a mom this year, and we had multiple winners at the 2025 Enterprise, Risk and Innovation Grammy Awards – Danielle Wessels, Fikile Mahambehlala, Celeste Moos, Lubabalo Ngesi, Duveen Appels, and Lwazi Ndima – with a few “Wooden Spoon” wins adding to the fun.
