We’re thrilled to share that with the many chart-topping tunes we produced this year, we have a full catalogue consisting of only the greatest hits.
Over in the Brand space:
The BrightRock family is expanding. We were excited to become the associate sponsor of the ISUZU Bulls Daisies earlier this year;
We also celebrated 10 incredible seasons with the DHL Stormers, a decade of teamwork and impact. We look forward to continuing playing the bounce with all the incredible teams we sponsor;
The Brand team is proud to have launched the Change Science Institute, helping people navigate life’s transitions with practical tools and science-backed strategies;
We also can’t wait to hear real life stories of people navigating changes in their lives when the next season of our Bewoners series, Overbergbewoners, goes live in January.
The People team:
Hosted talent management sessions to help with the development and growth of our BrightRockers. We prioritised engaging the leadership team on the tools that we’ve developed to help recruit the right talent as well as help their people thrive;
We worked to refine and streamline our work from home policy, ensuring consistency and alignment across BrightRock;
To continue offering fair and market-related pay, we worked with Sanlam to assign job grades to all our roles. This enabled the team to conduct detailed salary benchmarks and helps to facilitate clearer career progression paths. To further create awareness regarding job grades, we engaged with BrightRock leaders, and we’ll continue to share ongoing support and vision of continuous development;
This year, we also completed the full cycle of the succession plan phase. We engaged the entire leadership team to facilitate the upskilling of upcoming talent for business continuity;
We’re getting closer to seeing an empty filing room as we continue our digital transition and phasing out hardcopy files. Staying with the digital and online, we’ve noted that not all our BrightRockers Outlook images feature the Amber background. So, we’re partnering with Access Control, ODEK and the Brand team to standardise this. This includes disabling the functionality that allows individuals to change their images on Teams and Outlook. We’ll be coordinating photoshoots and look forward to seeing everyone’s pictures successfully uploaded and proudly reflecting the BrightRock brand standard.
In our learning area with the YOUniversity team:
Our needs-matched way programme was recognised by the global EFMD Excellence in Practice Awards (EiP) as one of the best internationally;
We gave 35 MBA students from the Kellogg School of Management a bit of our infectious BrightRock flair and a taste of our lekker Mzansi flavours at our Head Office in Sandton. The students were blown away by our needs-matched approach and applauded our made-just-for-you insurance model;
We also successfully hosted business insurance workshops and our national update sessions for our financial advisers across the country;
We held a bright and bold graduation ceremony for our BrightRock learners at our head office in Sandton. Once again, we’re proud of the BrightRock Class of 2025 who completed a 12-month NQF programme with our learning partner, Training Force.
We can confidently say this has been a chart-topping year for us in the Brand, People and Learning team. And, as we reach the end of 2025 and look forward to a new year, with new changes and new challenges, we’d like to wish all our colleagues a restful and peaceful year end. Here’s to more milestones and hits in the year to come!
