BrightRockers, it’s October which means it’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month – the perfect time to remind you about our digital habits that need a little spring clean.
Cybersecurity might sound like passwords, firewalls and lots of serious-looking screens, but it really comes down to a few simple everyday habits. Think of it as locking the front door of your digital home.
These are just a few tips to protect you and BrightRock:
Keep your password safe and change them
Make them strong, unique and difficult to guess.
Switch on multi-factor authentication
Because one lock is good, but two are even better.
Don’t take the phishing bait
If an email or message looks suspicious, pause before you click. That “urgent” request might be trying to hook you.
Keep things updated
Software updates aren’t just about new features, they often include important security fixes.
Cyber threats are constantly changing, so our approach needs to change too. The good news? Small changes can make a big difference.
So, this October, let’s embrace the change, stay curious, think before we click – and keep BrightRock’s digital world a little safer, one smart choice at a time. Because when it comes to cybersecurity, change really is in the air!
As you know, at BrightRock we love change, and this year we’re changing the way we test your cybersecurity knowledge. To ensure your safety, we’re working with KnowBe4, a secure cybersecurity platform to host our cybersecurity test. You will get an email from the ICT team with a link to the test, click on the link and follow the instructions to complete the survey. Be on the lookout for more comms in What’s the Buzz? as well as poster all around our offices.
And remember to complete the compulsory cybersecurity culture survey by Friday, 30 October!
